The Kuwaiti Olympic committee derives its concepts from the wisdom and concept of the political leadership in the country, starting from our great Islamic doctrines, customs and traditions, and from the modern Olympic concept, which is a mixture of art, morals and sportsmanship.

The committee’s aim is to build up a better world where peace prevails through education, generalization, and encouraging the youth to exercise sports in the frame of the Olympic spirit. This requires the existence of a mutual understanding in an atmosphere of friendship, unity and fair games. At that time the committee held fruitful and good relations with the neighboring national Olympic committees in the world, Arab, national and gulf coordination council countries.

Locally the committee is working on equally promoting the sports intellectually, physically and morally, starting by the instructions of the country’s highness, prince of the country, in forming a generation of youth (men and women) physically and mentally healthy, ready to absorb the rapid technical and scientific development in our era… all this requires instruction, orientation and training in several domains. For that reason the KOC participated in the Arab Asian Olympic tournaments, and it left an impact in all these participations thanks to its sports’ leaders headed by the late Sheikh Fahed al Ahmad al Jaber al Sabbah.
